Guns, ski masks seized during arrest in Seattle

SEATTLE, Wash. — The Seattle Police Department has arrested a 19-year-old Friday, accused of pointing a gun at someone.

Inside the vehicle, officers say they found three handguns, all with extended magazines. One handgun appeared to have been modified with a “switch” that allows it to be converted from semi-automatic to fully automatic.

Another handgun had its serial number filed off. Officers also found two black ski masks and three blue bandanas inside the vehicle.

Just after 2:30 a.m., officers were flagged down by a group of people near 10th Avenue and East Pike, stating someone in a silver car pointed a gun at them.

Officers spotted a car matching the description nearby and stopped the driver at a gas station on Broadway.

Four people got out, a 14-year-old, two 19-year-olds, and a 20-year-old, and were all detained.

The 19-year-old was identified as the man who allegedly pointed the gun. Police say he didn’t have any warrants but had a prior felony history.

The Homicide/Assault Unit is handling the investigation. The suspect was booked into King County Jail on charges of second-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm.
