BELLEVUE, Wash. — Officers with the Bellevue Police Department are investigating after shots were fired at buildings in downtown Bellevue.

Police said both shootings occurred within one week of each other – near 112th Avenue and NE 8th Street.

"Anytime you have an incident like that where someone was shooting a firearm within the city limits… we're going to be concerned," Meeghan Black, a spokesperson for the Bellevue Police Department said.

Police told KIRO 7's Jessica Oh the shots were likely fired from street level, and broke windows on the seventh floor of a business and the 23rd floor of an apartment building.

"The idea that somebody's taking pop shots on buildings around here was quite surprising," Jack Pines, who works for Apptio on the seventh floor, said.

Police said they are unsure if the shots were related and they have yet to figure out who could be responsible.

"It is very unnerving and that's why we just want everyone to be aware of their surroundings. Call 911 immediately if something unusual or out of the ordinary happens," Black said.

Anyone with information on the shootings is asked to contact the Bellevue Police Department.
