LYNNWOOD, Wash. — A boy is dead after being struck by a vehicle Friday night in Lynnwood.
Police said officers were called about 7 p.m. to Highway 99 and 200th Street Southwest for a report of vehicle versus pedestrian collision.
Witnesses told officers that the boy was struck while attempting to run across the highway, officials said.
Police said other witnesses told officers the vehicle, identified as a Ford pickup truck, was going northbound and had the green light.
The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, officials said. The driver’s spouse and child were also in the truck.
No one in the truck was injured.
Police closed the highway from the 20200 block of 196th Street Southwest for the investigation.
