SEATTLE — Detectives are investigating a sexual assault near the University of Washington campus Thursday morning.
The incident happened at about 10:30 a.m., north of the campus in the 4700 block of 16th Avenue Northeast.
Police said the victim woke up to a stranger in her bed and she was assaulted before the suspect fled the area.
The suspect, who is still at large, is described as a dark-skinned man, in his late 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin build with very short curly black hair, might have a slight gap between his top two front teeth and may speak with a slight African accent.
He was wearing a maroon baseball hat with an unknown design, white long-sleeve shirt, dark blue jeans and was carrying a white plastic bag.
