LYNNWOOD, Wash. — The cause of death of two people whose bodies were found inside a Lynnwood home Monday are murder and suicide, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
A man and woman in their 80s were found dead in a house in the 18400 block of 60th Avenue West. Lynnwood police had said a death investigation was underway.
Lynnwood police later confirmed the deceased were a husband and wife. Both were 82 years old.
As of Monday afternoon, detectives were waiting for a search warrant to re-enter the home and conduct a complete investigation.
According to tweets from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office on Wednesday, the woman’s cause of death was a gunshot wound and the manner of death was suicide.
The man’s cause of death was gunshot wounds and his manner of death was homicide.
