A mental health professional was concerned about threats the 41-year-old man was allegedly making, officials said.
When deputies arrived, they met with the man's father outside while his son, who was inside, didn't respond to a loudspeaker or phone calls, officials said.
Officials said deputies at the scene had advised the father not to go back into the house for his own safety, but he did. Moments later, deputies heard multiple gunshots.
