SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating after an attack and attempted kidnapping in the Lake City area.
A woman who was on her regular morning run said a man tried to grab her off the street on Wednesday.
The woman told police she had never seen the man before.
Witnesses said the man put a sweatshirt over her head and threw her into the bushes.
A driver who witnessed the attack in its entirety was on her way to work and started aggressively honking her horn to scare off the man, which worked.
The jogger said she was shaken but otherwise was OK.
When KIRO 7 talked to her, she said that if this type of thing happened to her, it could happen to anyone.
“I kicked, and I screamed, and I’m really glad I was able to do those things. He could’ve had chloroform or had a weapon and been stronger — and he wasn’t. I was able to kick, and I was able to scream,” said Laura Feet.
When police arrived at the scene of the attack, they used K-9 teams to try and find the attacker but were unsuccessful.
The investigation remains ongoing.
