Man hurt in Rainier Beach shooting dies from injuries, is identified

SEATTLE — A man who was in critical condition after being shot in Seattle’s Rainier Beach neighborhood has died.

The King County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 53-year-old Jason F. Tuttle.

Tuttle died from a gunshot wound to the head. The manner of death was homicide.

Police arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the shooting that happened on Saturday.

The Seattle Police Department said that around 10 a.m., it got reports that a person was shot in the 9800 block of Martin Luther King Junior Way South.

When officers got there, they found a 53-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center.

Police identified a suspect and found him at a nearby house.

Patrol and SWAT officers took him into custody.

Detectives are working to figure out what led up to the shooting.

The man was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of assault. Since the victim died, the man is facing homicide charges.
