Police: Marysville woman arrested for murder after allegedly driving over man with her car

MARYSVILLE, Wash. — A 63-year-old Marysville woman was arrested Friday night for murder after allegedly running over a man with her car after an argument, police say.

Officers responded around 6 p.m. to reports of a man who was injured in a driveway in the 1500 block of 140th Street NE.

When they arrived, aid crews saw injuries that were consistent with being hit by a car. Crews attempted life-saving efforts, but the 64-year-old man died.

Detectives learned that there was a verbal argument between the victim and the suspect outside the house. A witness reported seeing the suspect leaving the scene in her car and the victim laying in the driveway.

Police believe the suspect drove over the victim with her car.

Officials later found the suspect at a nearby house and her car in a wooded brush area nearby. They saw damage to the front of the car consistent with hitting a body.

In an interview later, the woman acknowledged “running over something” but denied knowing it was the victim.

The woman was arrested and booked into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of second-degree murder. Police are continuing to investigate.
