Seattle police were investigating a shooting Monday afternoon in the 2700 block of East Union Street in Seattle.
Medics were called there at 12:45 p.m. for a 22-year-old man shot in his leg.
Police were searching for two suspects seen fleeing the area on foot. Investigators did not immediately release a suspect description.
"Investigators later determined that a suspect, described as a black male, driving a green colored sedan, drove out of the parking lot and fired several shots at the victim, striking him," Detective Mark Jamieson said in a statement. "The suspect vehicle continued eastbound on East Union Street. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Seattle Police."
On Tuesday, Seattle police said gang unit detectives identified the suspect and found him and his vehicle late Monday afternoon on First Hill.
The 28-year-old was arrested by SWAT officers and a search warrant was served on his home and vehicle. Two handguns were recovered.
The man was later booked into the King County Jail on a number of gun-related charges.
Police in Des Moines also were responding to a shooting around the same time in the 22600 block of Pacific Highway South, about 18 miles south of the Seattle shooting scene. Follow this link for details on the Des Moines shooting investigation.
