TACOMA, Wash. — An investigation is underway after police fatally shot a man near Tacoma Mall Wednesday afternoon.
Officers were called to the 4700 block of South Pine Street, where an armed man was confronted.
Authorities said shots were fired and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is not clear if the man fired shots.
A weapon was recovered from the scene, police said.
The officers involved in the shooting were not injured.
The Pierce County Force Investigation Team is investigating the shooting.
