ISSAQUAH, Wash. — Bellevue detectives recovered $183,000 worth of stolen rings from an Issaquah house. The discovery happened six hours after the jewelry heist at Factoria Mall.
According to investigators, Drew Creighton, 30, walked into Olsen and Son's Fine Jewelry and asked to see engagement rings last Wednesday night. After looking at rings for about 45 minutes, police say Creighton grabbed the trays of rings and ran. The employee chased him.
As Creighton got in his car to get away, he dropped his health insurance card with his name and birthdate, according to police.
Detectives tracked Creighton to his mother's house in downtown Issaquah. The SWAT team entered the house just before 2 a.m. on Thursday and arrested Creighton. They had a warrant to search the house and found 35 stolen rings hidden in the wall in his bedroom, according to court documents.
Creighton is charged with felony theft and is scheduled to be arraigned on March 18.
