A Monroe café was burglarized early Sunday morning after the power was cut and the front window was smashed, according to the Monroe Police Department.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 9, officers responded to a burglary at Let’s Play Café on Lewis Street.

The suspect first disabled the power to the building before using a pry bar to break the café's front window and gain entry.

The Monroe Police Department is currently working with the café owners to determine the full extent of the stolen merchandise. Initial assessments suggest a substantial amount of property was taken.
