SEATTLE — A police pursuit of a fleeing car in North Seattle ended in a fatal crash early Thursday.
The rollover crash happened in the 7500 block of Lake City Way Northeast/SR 522 on the offramp to southbound I-5 at about 4 a.m.
Police were responding to another call when the chase started. Officers were heading to a domestic violence call in the Lake City area just before 4 a.m.
When police arrived at a house, they heard a gunshot and saw a car speed away from the scene.
Officers chased the car, which ended up on Lake City Way.
The suspect lost control, hit a median, clipped two cars and then rolled over.
There were two people in the car. A man who was ejected died. Another man was trapped in the car and had to be rescued. His statement to police made it unclear who was driving.
KIRO 7 News video showed that parked cars were struck in the crash and the car that lost control on it's roof.
