PUYALLUP, Wash. — An auto dealership in Puyallup is offering a $10,000 reward after someone stole a rare car off their lot.
Legend Auto Sales says it happened at their location on River Road over the weekend.
Just before 3:30 a.m. Saturday, police say a car pulled up with three people inside. The group broke out the window of a 2017 Chevrolet SSE and took off with it.
“Somehow they had a decoder device that is known to be used by thieves and they got in the car, ripped the chain from the entrance with another car that was probably stolen, and away they went,” Sales Manager Miguel Heredia told KIRO 7.
Surveillance video from the dealership shows the thieves finish the job in under two minutes.
The reward is contingent on the vehicle being returned in good condition.
Heredia says he doesn’t know if the thieves targeted the specific vehicle, but hopes someone will help them get it back.
“These people need to be put away,” he told KIRO 7.
“I know there’s somebody that knows these people or has seen the car or knows something about it.”
