SOUTH HILL, Wash. — An early morning burglary "caught on camera" is the latest in a string of crimes targeting local cellphone stores.
The Cricket Wireless store in Puyallup's South Hill had already made security changes to keep thieves out, so thieves found a creative way in.
Surveillance video, embedded below, shows the suspects appear one at a time – crawling out from under a table.
Once in the backroom of the store, they rushed to the safe and pulled the wires on the surveillance system.
Cricket Wireless told KIRO 7 the space next door is for lease so the burglars broke into the empty business and cut their way inside.
According to the store, they stole the safe full of phones. The thieves escaped out the back door, which had already been reinforced so no one could break in.

“It’s wrong, (because) we were going to upgrade our son’s phone and then find out they really don’t have any now,” Michael Oliver told KIRO 7.
Cricket Wireless said it has had armed robberies at four other stores recently: In Renton, Kent, Tacoma and Spanaway – and said they had so much crime at their Tacoma store on Center Street they closed it.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the most recent break-in and is asking for the public’s help in identifying the burglary suspects.
