The 522-page regional pitch by King and Snohomish counties for Amazon's second headquarters, HQ2, includes no sites in Seattle, home to HQ1.

Instead, there are places like a soon-to-be-surplus federal property in Auburn.

"We would love to have Amazon here," Mayor Nancy Backus said.

"I think our odds (are) as good as anyone else's. I personally believe Auburn is the best place to choose," Backus said.

All across North America, cities are eyeing their empty spaces and dreaming of an Amazon campus for 50,000 workers.

The regional pitch offers 10 sites: Bothell, Everett, Lynnwood, Kenmore, Tukwila, Bellevue, Renton, Auburn, the Tulalip Tribes, and a joint submission from Arlington and Marysville.

Although no Seattle sites are included, the pitch has a letter of support from Mayor Tim Burgess, who wrote "we have no intention of swiping left on you," a reference to finding someone unattractive on Tinder.

State Sen. Reuven Carlyle signed another letter of support.

He says regional leaders are "all in" for hosting HQ2, but added, "I don't think anyone is unrealistic. We're going to put our best foot forward, but at the same time I think we (have) a real appreciation of the magnitude of the decision that they're facing."

Carlyle said the regional bid included no special tax breaks.
