Renton police arrest woman with stolen mail from 17 addresses

Renton police arrested a woman who was found with 46 stolen pieces of mail from 17 different addresses after a vigilant resident reported the theft.

The arrest occurred on Nov. 21, after the resident’s mailbox alarm went off, prompting them to contact the police.

Officers quickly responded and apprehended the woman.

With mail theft increasing during the holiday season, Renton police are urging residents to pick up mail promptly, use secure delivery options when possible, and consider upgrading to locking mailboxes.

Authorities also reminded residents to stay alert and report suspicious activity to 911.
