Report: 49ers came to aid of Tyler Lockett while hospitalized with shin injury

SEATTLE — Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett was back on the field Sunday in Seattle's win over the Eagles less than two weeks after a leg injury left him hospitalized for two nights.

Lockett was injured late in the team's 27-24 overtime victory over the 49ers on Nov. 11 with a lower leg bruise.

The team was concerned about swelling in Lockett's leg so he spent two nights at Stanford Hospital out of precaution.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Lockett asked medical personnel at the hospital if they had a "Game Ready" device.

Game Ready is a high-end compression therapy unit that is used to accelerate recovery.

The hospital did not have a Game Ready device.

According to Rapoport, Lockett's agent Andrew Kessler then called members of the 49ers to ask if they had a Game Ready Lockett could use.

Two hours later, the 49ers training staff arrived at the hospital with the device, Rapoport said.

"Lockett swears by the Game Ready machine, which integrates iceless cold, controllable heat, rapid contrast and active compression therapies, according to its website. It utilizes cryotherapy, thermotherapy, contrast therapy and compression therapy," Rapoport said.

Lockett flew back to Seattle on Wednesday Nov. 13 and the Seahawks had a bye that weekend.

He finished Sunday with one catch for 38 yards in Seattle's 17-9 win.

The 9-2 Seahawks next play the Minnesota Vikings at home on Dec. 2 on Monday Night Football.
