SEATTLE — Your chance to reserve your spot on board select Washington State Ferry routes for the coveted summer travel season is almost here.

Vehicle reservations on the Port Townsend to Coupeville and Anacortes to San Juan Island routes for June 18 to September 23 will become available at 7 a.m. Tuesday.

The reservations are not tickets but allow travelers to save their spot on a ferry route. They have no cost, but those with reservations will be charged a fee if they do not show up on their chosen date.

Vehicle reservations are not required, but WSF strongly recommends them to travelers as space for stand-by vehicles on sailings is limited.

WSF also reminds travelers to book two reservations for any round-trip visit, as each reservation is only valid for a one-way trip.

Complete details on how to make and use a vehicle reservation are available on the WSF website.
