SEATTLE — A Mexican restaurant that closed after the Greenwood explosion reopened to the public Saturday.
The March explosion leveled a building, destroying multiple businesses and injuring nine firefighters.
“Sorry we won’t be open today,” the restaurant, GORDITOS, wrote on its Facebook page. “There was a big explosion in Greenwood … and we aren’t sure when we will be allowed in the restaurant! We will get updates for you when we can!”

Scaffolding was up by April 20. Then work on a wall of the building began.

On Saturday, the restaurant announced it had officially reopened.
“Well today is the day we have been waiting for since the explosion,” GORDITOS wrote. “We will be open at 10:30 and ready to make you some food!”
