SEATTLE — Russell Wilson’s Why Not You Foundation and the College Success Foundation have awarded $100,000 in scholarships to recent high school graduates.

The recipients are:
-Najma Abdirizak, Kent-Meridian High School
-Aye Aye Aung, Kent-Meridian High School
-Djamila Oumarou, Kent Meridian High School
-Monserrat Palacios-Aguirre, Kent Meridian High School
-Ribka Abebe, Tyee High School
-Bryan Ahaneku Chucha, Auburn Mountainview High School
-Katie Liu, Lindbergh High School
Wilson congratulated each recipient in a video posted on YouTube.
“Hey guys, in February we launched the Dream Big campaign and I’m a firm believer that when you dream big anything is possible," Wilson said. "Let's give a big congratulations to our inaugural Why Not You scholars.”
Wilson said each student will receive a scholarship to attend a trade school, community college or four-year university.

Wilson has started every game of his seven-year career for the Seahawks after selected drafted in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
In 2013, Wilson led the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl victory in franchise history with a 43-8 win over the Denver Broncos.
In 112 regular season games, Wilson has passed for 196 touchdowns and 63 interceptions and has added another 3,651 yards and 16 touchdowns rushing.
