Sammamish man arrested after fatal shooting of woman

A Sammamish man was arrested late Thursday night in connection with a homicide investigation, according to a report from the King County Sheriff’s Office.

King County Sheriff’s Office received a call Thursday from an attorney saying someone was at a residence with life-threatening injuries.

She advised law enforcement to go to 3977 262nd Avenue Southeast in Sammamish. She said someone had been shot.

She added that the individual who called her was no longer at the home, but had left with his son. The attorney did not provide more details.

Sammamish deputies and sergeants arrived and entered the home, where they found an unresponsive woman in a bed, with a sheet pulled over her neck.

When a deputy moved the sheet down, he saw a gunshot wound on the left side of her face. Deputies also discovered two shell casings nearby.

While securing the house, deputies came to a locked door. After kicking the door open, deputies saw a firearm next to a drum set, with an empty gun clip nearby.

The suspect spoke to his brother and asked him to meet with detectives at Sammamish City Hall, where he was taken into custody and booked on charges of homicide.

Because the suspect has not been officially charged, KIRO 7 News will not name him.
