SEATTLE — The arrival of Vice President, Kamala Harris brought some traffic to the Seattle area. However, compared to past state visits, the impact of that backup was relatively minimal.
She stayed at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, where there were street closures and heavy security.
The vice president traveled through Boeing Field instead of flying in and out of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
The majority of commuters KIRO 7′s Lauren Donovan talked to didn’t see her arrival as much of a disruption.
“Honestly, I’m surprised on I-5 South this morning it wasn’t worse,” said Ian Maddox, who works in SoDo.
“I had a smooth drive in, so I wasn’t affected, but I’m sure some were,” said Karinda Harris from Kent.
