Sea-Tac Airport is looking to spend millions on "shatter-proofing" glass that travelers walk by every day.
Tonight on KIRO 7 at 7, Linzi Sheldon went to the airport to find out where the work could happen -- and the potential impact on travelers. Watch on-air or online here.
The $6.2 million project calls for a shatter-proof coating to be added to windows along the main terminal facing the arrivals and departures roads -- and the windows of the sky bridges
The airport says the project would protect people from glass that shatters during a blast, high winds, or an earthquake.
With this glazing, the windows would just crack -- but not break -- protecting people from dangerous pieces of glass that would normally shatter inwards and to the ground.
