RENTON, Wash. — The Seahawks' No. 1 wide receiver, Doug Baldwin, practiced on Wednesday for the first time since suffering an MCL injury in the season opener against Denver.

"He's our leader [and] obviously an extraordinary player so anytime we can get him on the field, that's great," Jaron Brown, a Seahawks wide receiver, said.

"He looks really good and light on his feet and he looks very confident that he can have a chance to play this week; so we'll see how that goes,” said Seahawks' head coach Pete Carroll.

Baldwin is confident he can play against the Cardinals but still hasn't practiced at full speed just yet.

"It's been a frustrating process for him and he's dying to get back out there,” said Carroll. “Hopefully, he can pull that together."

Brown was playing for the Cardinals last season when Russell Wilson found Baldwin for that 54-yard gain that set up Seattle's final touchdown. Brown still remembers the big moment in Glendale, Ariz.

"Yeah, I was heartbroken, to be honest with you, when it happened,” said Brown with a smile. “But those are the type of plays these guys make every day."

On the other side of the football, six-time Pro Bowler Earl Thomas was at the VMAC on Wednesday but didn’t practice with the team. After Thomas missed a couple of practices last week, Carroll said that he and Thomas are at a point where they're moving forward in a very positive way.

"He's a baller and that's what he does,” Bobby Wagner, a Seahawks linebacker, said. “At the end of the day, it's going to be a bunch of stuff that happens during the week. You know, the great ones are able to put that to the side and come out and play. That's what Earl does."
