Search for missing man intensifies in Kittitas County

KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. — The search for a 30-year-old man missing for days has intensified in Kittitas County.

Washington State Patrol found Andrew Morgan’s abandoned car on Nov. 16 after a minor single-vehicle accident on the BullFrog Road off-ramp, off of Interstate 90 near Cle Elum, the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Morgan’s car was impounded after a search of the area showed no one around.

However, the sheriff’s office found out from Morgan’s family in Mississippi they have not been unable to reach him since the day of the vehicle accident.

Morgan’s cellphone showed he was at the location of the crash last Tuesday, but it showed no other activity or movement after that.

Morgan’s family is asking for answers and help in finding him as they believe he was living out of his car and working in South Seattle.

Morgan is said to be 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and weighs 140 pounds.

A day before and on Thanksgiving, deputies and volunteers searched the area where Morgan’s car was found.

Deputies said they found some items believed to belong to him, but that was all.

They said a statewide call for trained search assistance will go out for the weekend if Morgan is not found before then.

Morgan has been described to have previous episodes in which he has been confused and frightened, believing he was being followed and chased, his family told deputies.

Anyone who sees Morgan or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call 509-925-8534.
