MUKILTEO, Wash. — A search is in progress for a diver who disappeared in the waters off Mukilteo on Friday morning.
Mukilteo police were called to Lighthouse Park for a call about a diver in distress. Officers said the missing diver, a 33-year-old Edmonds man, was with a diving partner, who was able to get to shore and is OK.
The Everett Fire Department’s drone and marine team joined in the search while a Coast Guard helicopter flew search patterns overhead.
The Coast Guard also had an 87-foot patrol boat and a 45-foot rescue boat in the area Friday.
Around 4 p.m., the Coast Guard suspended their search due to poor weather conditions and visibility, according to the Mukilteo Police Department.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team will continue searching Saturday with additional resources, police said.
