MT. BAKER, Wash. — Search and rescue crews out of Whidbey Island rescued a snowmobiler involved in an accident near Mount Baker on Saturday.
A team from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island received the rescue request at about 3:40 p.m. and were airborne by 4:30 p.m., arriving at the scene just before 5 p.m.
Ground crew members found the snowmobiler, who was unconscious and had a restricted airway.
They were transported to St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, where they arrived at about 5:40 p.m.
This was the fifth mission the NAS Whidbey Island search and rescue team completed this year.
