Search underway for person who stabbed man in the chest in Seattle’s Northgate neighborhood

SEATTLE — The Seattle Police Department is searching for the person who stabbed someone this morning on North 107th Street in the Northgate neighborhood.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a stab wound to his chest. The Seattle Fire Department treated him and took him to Harborview Medical Center. At last check, he is stable.

The man gave police limited information about the attack, but said he didn’t know the person and that it happened on the border of a nearby tent encampment.

The suspect, believed to be in his 30s, left the area before police arrived. Police searched the area but could not find him.

The circumstances leading up to the attack are under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000. Anonymous tips are accepted.
