SEATTLE/TACOMA — Grand Central Bakery in Seattle is recalling loaves of bread due to the potential presence of metal.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall on Wednesday, August 19.

According to the FDA, the recall was initiated after a pallet nail was discovered in a loaf of Potato Sourdough Bread.

The FDA confirmed that no injuries or illnesses have been reported, and that the incident was related to a single batch of dough.

The recalled Grand Central Bakery Potato Sourdough Bread is sold directly to customers at Grand Central Bakery Cafés and at the following grocery stores in the Seattle/Tacoma area:

  • Central Co-op
  • Fred Meyer Stores
  • Hilltop Red Apple
  • Ken’s Markets
  • Marketime Foods
  • PCC Markets
  • QFC Stores
  • Town & Country Market
  • Thriftway Stores
  • Whole Foods Markets
  • Yakima Fruit Markets
  • Metropolitan Markets
