SEATTLE — A Seattle councilmember’s home was targeted by some protesters who want to defund the city’s police department, demanding Alex Pedersen’s vote.

Thursday night, protesters took over Pedersen’s neighborhood.

A video posted on Facebook shows supporters marching in front of Pedersen’s home.

There are seven members of the council who are in favor of defunding SPD by 50%.

Councilmembers Deborah Juarez and Pedersen have been hesitant to support the plan.

Just last month, hundreds marched to Mayor Jenny Durkan’s home, demanding she support defunding the police. Councilmember Kshama Sawant joined in that march.

Durkan, a former U.S. attorney, called the march reckless, saying it was done with disregard for the safety of her family.

As for Thursday night’s protest, councilmember Pedersen’s office had no comment.
