A man backing his truck and fifth-wheel trailer onto his property on Thursday accidentally crushed a family member against a fence, according to Seattle police.
Around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Seattle police responded to a call of a collision in the 8000 bock of 36th Avenue South.
A man was attempting to back his truck and fifth-wheel trailer from the street onto his property and as he was reversing, he realized he struck his fence.
Unknown to him, a family member had been pinned between the fence and the trailer and was severely injured.
Seattle Fire responded and attempted life-saving measures, but the 73-year-old man died at the scene.
The driver was evaluated, and no signs of impairment were determined.
