Seattle man arrested after recruiting ‘teen’ for prostitution

SEATTLE — A Seattle man was arrested at Sea-Tac on Wednesday and charged with two felonies related to human trafficking, according to a press release from the Department of Justice.

Isaac Shorack, 23, was arrested Wednesday evening after he drove to the arrivals area at Sea-Tac to pick up a person he believed to be a 17-year-old minor.

Unknown to Shorack, he had been communicating with an undercover agent, posing as a minor that was traveling to Seattle to work as a prostitute.

According to the criminal complaint, the investigation began after a call to the National Human Trafficking Hotline in Nov. 2021 with information about minors who were being trafficked on Aurora Avenue in Seattle.

The FBI started an investigation and was able to track some of Shorack’s activities and the minors under his control.

Forensic examination of Shorack’s electronic devices showed text messages between Shorack and minors about pricing, what sex acts they should engage in with sex buyers, the use of condoms, and how much money they were earning for him.

The investigation found cash bank deposits from Shorack correlated with the texts about how much money the minors were making.

An out-of-state undercover agent reached out to Shorack, posing as a 17-year-old minor.

Shorack communicated with the ‘minor’ by phone and text messages as he enticed the ‘minor’ to travel to Seattle and work for him as a prostitute.

Shorack had some of the minors he employed as prostitutes reach out to the ‘minor’ to recruit her to work for him.

Eventually Shorack purchased a ticket for the ‘minor’ to fly to Seattle and he told her he would pick her up outside baggage claim, where he was arrested by the Port of Seattle Police.

Attempted enticement of a minor and transportation of a minor to engage in prostitution are punishable by a mandatory minimum 10 years to life in prison.
