SEATTLE — Sorry to all the snow lovers - Seattle is not likely to get snow this February.
KIRO 7 meteorologist Claire Anderson said the current forecast has an unfavorable pattern and a high pressure ridge is preventing temperatures from getting low enough to bring snow to the area.
What are the chances of seeing snow in Seattle this February? NOT likely-- forecast isn't looking cold enough. Also, how about 3 years ago when Feb. 2019 was the snowiest on record! On this day we had some major snow in downtown Seattle! @kiro7seattle #kiro7seattle #seattle #wawx pic.twitter.com/uhiHRK5bI3

In the last few years, February 2019 and 2021 both brought record snow to the area.
February 2019 was the snowiest, with 20.2 inches of snow falling in SeaTac over the month. The previous record was set in 1949.
February 2021 set records of its own, with Feb. 13 being the single snowiest day in Seattle in 52 years with 8.9 inches.
