Drugs, cash seized during a sweep of Seattle's Chinatown-International District

SEATTLE, Wash. — The Seattle Police Department is cracking down on drug dealing in the city’s Chinatown-International District.

On Jan. 6, bike officers with the Seattle Police Department arrested two men after seeing a series of people buy drugs from them near 12th Avenue and South King Street.

Officers say one of the men, a 49-year-old convicted felon, had a loaded handgun on him as well as 0.5 grams of fentanyl powder.

The second man, also in his 40s, had 18 grams of meth on him.

Five days later, police arrested a 56-year-old woman that officers say selling drugs to people on South King Street.

Officers say she had 8.5 grams of fentanyl powder on her.

All three were booked into King County Jail for drug charges.

These aren’t the only sweeps that police have conducted in the Chinatown International District in recent weeks.

On January 3, officers arrested seven people in another operation.

On December 20, an additional 14 people were arrested.
