Seattle Police Department recovers more guns in March than any single month since 2010

SEATTLE — The Seattle Police Department has been taking guns off the streets recently at a pace it hasn’t seen in more than a decade.

Last month, SPD recovered 169 guns, its highest number in a single month since the year 2010.

Out of the 169 guns, 39 were forfeited at the SPD Range for destruction, the department said.

“The department continues to strive to address concerns surrounding violent crimes with firearms,” SPD said in its release.
