Seattle-based shelter Mary's Place announced it will be partnering with Lyft to provide unlimited transportation services to families living in the shelter.
The company will provide free rides to people living in the King County Family Emergency Shelter Intake Line from now until December, according to a report from Geekwire.
Lyft is also providing $7,500 worth of rides to take women to medical appointments, job interviews and other services.
The partnership is part of a broader initiative of the company's called Lyft City Works, which provides free and reduced price rides to medical patients, low-income seniors, veterans in transition and victims of natural disasters, among others.
As the pilot program progresses, both Mary's Place and Lyft will evaluate the scope of the need and talk about future collaboration.
