SEATTLE — The Seattle Symphony is celebrating immigrants with a free concert on Wednesday, February 8.
The concert, which starts around 7:30 p.m., is titled. "Music Beyond Borders: Voices From The Seven."
"During the last week, the arts community across the country has been coming together in meaningful ways following the recent executive order restricting travel and immigration from certain Middle Eastern countries. At the Seattle Symphony, we are inspired to add our voice, with the hope that we can bring together our community to celebrate the freedom of expression and open exchange of ideas which the arts have stood for, especially in times of division and conflict," the concert details on the Seattle Symphony's website read.
Featured in the concert will be music from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
Tickets were quickly accounted for -- within hours. Since the response was so warm, the Seattle Symphony has decided to stream the performance live on Facebook.
JUST ANNOUNCED: The concert will be simulcast in the 500-seat Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall and standby tickets...

In a Seattle courtroom, a federal judge made a decision that temporarily shuts down President Donald Trump's executive order banning travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries.
A temporary restraining order will remain in place as U.S. District Judge James Robart considers a Washington state lawsuit against President Trump's ban. If the lawsuit wins, the executive order could be permanently invalidated nationwide.
The government moved quickly to comply with the judge's order. The State Department reversed visa cancelations for foreigners, and the Homeland Security Department said it's no longer directing airlines to prevent affected visa-holders from boarding U.S.-bound flights.
President Donald Trump's executive order barred any non-U.S. citizen from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia or Yemen from entering the United States.
