Thursday marked the eighth day in October that Seattle has had a high temperature at or above 70 degrees, tying a record set in October 1991, the National Weather Service Seattle announced.
Upper-level ridging developed Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing a warming to western Washington for the rest of the week and through the weekend.
KIRO 7 Meteorologist Nick Allard said Friday will be another mostly sunny day, but the haze won’t be quite as bad and temperatures should fall a degree or two.
This weekend, offshore wind is set to bring lower relative humidity and breezy conditions along with more smoke, haze and record-setting temperatures.
High temperatures, which are recorded at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, are forecast to reach the upper 70s on Saturday and Sunday.
Cooler air will move in on Monday, which will help to improve air quality. Highs will stay in the upper 60s.
Seattle has reached 70 degrees again today. This makes 8 days at or above 70 this month...which ties the October record previously set in 1991. #wawx
