Seattle's youngest drag queen shares message: Love yourself

RainBowGoreCake, 14, talked to the Seattle Channel this week about her inspiration for drag and performance.

America's youngest drag queen, who lives in Seattle, is sharing a message before performing in Pride this weekend: Love yourself.

KIRO 7 will be livestreaming the entire Pride Parade this Sunday starting at 11 a.m., and we'll also have a TV replay at 11:30 p.m. Sunday night. Watch with us here!

RainBowGoreCake, 14, talked to the Seattle Channel this week about her inspiration for drag and performance.

But she also talked about her journey of being supported by family and the community.

“I think my mom is like the main supporter of the group, and then my dad really supports me …   But I’ve heard some stories about young gay people, and they get bullied and stuff, I’ve just kept quiet about the drag because I don’t want to be harassed or anything, but I’ve gotten a really positive reaction to it,” the teen said.

RainBowGore Cake hopes she can be a leader for anyone who feels different.

“I am a voice to young gay kids, who want to be drag or queer, and I would love to be one of the voices for that. Just be who you want to be, no matter what. Stay true to yourself, be who you want to be.”

Seattle's drag community has several well-known performers that tour in nationwide events. As part of Pride, two drag queens who participated in the reality TV show RuPaul's Drag race will give free performance at your doorstep as part of an event with Uber.
