Federal Way police have arrested a second suspect in the tragic shooting death of 2-year-old Synsyr Lewis, who was killed in a parking lot shooting in April.

On December 18, detectives, with assistance from Alameda Police in California, arrested 31-year-old Jerome Lewis on a warrant for first-degree murder.

His bail has been set at $3 million. Lewis will remain in custody in California pending extradition to Washington.

The incident occurred on April 4 in the parking lot of the IHOP restaurant in the 100 block of Southwest Campus Drive.

Police received a call around 9:58 a.m. reporting the shooting, followed shortly by a report from St. Francis Hospital of a 2-year-old arriving with a gunshot wound.

Synsyr was later transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he died.

The first suspect, 17-year-old Jayson Jack, was arrested on October 2.

Jack, who was 16 at the time of the shooting, was charged as an adult and booked into the King County Children and Family Justice Center for first-degree murder.

The investigation remains ongoing.
