Near HOBART, Wash. — Drivers who travel on State Route 18 in the Tiger Mountain area are facing a messy commute Tuesday morning.
All lanes in both directions were blocked just west of Interstate 90 and at Issaquah Hobart Road after a semitruck carrying a load of toilet paper rolled over near a construction zone at around 3:45 a.m.
The eastbound lanes reopened at around 6:30 a.m. The westbound lanes reopened about 30 minutes later.
Trooper Rick Johnson said the driver was able to get out of the truck on his own and was not hurt. However, he is in custody for suspicion of DUI.
The truck spilled some diesel fuel, which had to be cleaned up. The Washington State Department of Ecology was notified.
The cab of the semi was pulled upright by a tow truck and was moved off the road. The semi-trailer will be pulled into the construction zone.
