Several arrested during Wednesday night protests in Seattle

SEATTLE — Several people were arrested Wednesday night during protests in Seattle.

The group marched through Capitol Hill, moving down Fifth Avenue, among other streets.

Police said one person was arrested in the group for property damage.

As the group marched west on East Roanoke Street, police made an announcement, saying that they took enforcement action because members of the group had caused property damage and officers were required to make an arrest.

As the group continued to march down Broadway near East Mercer Street, the group was warned to move out of the street.

When the group arrived by the East Precinct at 12th and Pine, three people were arrested for property damage, police said. A man was arrested for obstruction, resisting arrest and assaulting an officer, police said. Two women were arrested, one for obstruction and the other for property damage.

A dispersal order was given following the property damage in the area, damage to police vehicles and for blocking a major intersection, police said.

Noting much later, police said they made two additional arrests for pedestrian interference and property damage.
