Several beaches in King County are closed due to high bacteria concentrations in the water, officials said.
Hidden Lake at Shoreline Park and Gene Coulon Park in Renton were closed last week due to bacteria levels. Officials are hoping to get the beaches reopened by the Fourth of July.
Newcastle Beach and Enatai Beach in Bellevue were closed Wednesday due to high bacteria concentrations, officials said.
Lake Wilderness Beach was reopened Wednesday after getting tested.
King County Health officials say exposure could cause skin irritation or eye infection, even serious illness if the water is swallowed.
The tests today should reveal if the bacteria is coming from human feces or animal feces.
