TACOMA, Wash. — Pierce County detectives made an arrest Tuesday for the Oct. 11 arson at the Islamic Center of Tacoma in University Place.
The 38-year-old man was taken into custody peacefully and booked into Pierce County jail for first degree arson.
After tips from the community, the suspect was identified and located.
Officials responded around 8:10 p.m. on Oct. 11 to a fire at the center, located in the 2000 block of Bridgeport Way.

The building was occupied when the fire started but everyone got out safely, sheriff’s officials said.
