Police: Shots fired from two vehicles in Columbia City

SEATTLE — Seattle police are investigating after shots were fired in Columbia City on Monday evening.

Shots were fired from two vehicles in the 4800 block of Rainier Avenue South after 7 p.m.

Police said there are no known injuries but there is property damage to businesses and parked vehicles.

According to police, witnesses reported occupants in a green Chrysler traveling southbound on Rainier fired shots towards a silver Honda that was traveling northbound.

The Honda sped away but crashed into another vehicle and drove away from the scene. The driver in the other vehicle had minor injuries.

Police said the Chrysler drove past 35th Avenue South and South Ferdinand Street, where additional shots were fired from the suspect vehicle. The Chrysler was last seen traveling northbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Way South.

Rainier Avenue South between South Edmunds Street and South Ferdinand was closed off for the investigation.
