Seattle Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting near a gas station and elementary school in the Roxhill neighborhood Monday afternoon, according to a police report.

At approximately 12:41 p.m. on Feb. 10, officers responded to the 3000 block of Southwest Roxbury Street after callers reported hearing gunshots.

Initial reports indicated the shots were fired near the 76 gas station at the corner of 30th Ave Southwest and Southwest Roxbury Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered over a dozen shell casings on 30th Ave Southwest near the gas station.

They also noted apparent bullet strikes on the gas pumps and damage to classroom windows at Roxhill Elementary (Bridges Service School), north of the gas station.

A witness reported seeing a white sedan and a black sedan leaving the area eastbound after the shots were fired.

Seattle Police secured the scene and requested the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO), as the gas station was within their jurisdiction.

While waiting for KCSO deputies, Seattle officers marked the shell casings, attempted to collect security camera footage, photographed the scene, and interviewed witnesses.

KCSO deputies arrived and took over the investigation.
