SEATTLE — A video game store in Seattle University District is cleaning up after it was hit by smash-and-grab burglars over the weekend.
KIRO 7’s Rob Munoz spoke to the owner of the Pink Gorilla gaming store, who received a call from Seattle police early Sunday morning.
“They were just like, ‘Hey, we’re inside of your store right now. There’s a whole lot of damage, you wanna come down and check it out?’” owner Cody Spencer said.
Someone had broken through the front glass door.
“What they take is about a thousand, the glass is about $3,000 and now our store just looks terrible,” said Spencer.
Hours after the break-in at Pink Gorilla, the owners said someone went into a nearby video store trying to trade the exact items that were stolen from Pink Gorilla.
“They got a scan of their ID, they got them on camera, so that info has been passed to the police and hopefully something will happen from there,” Spencer said.
