Smoke pushing into Seattle area, lowering air quality

Hazy skies in Seattle There is still some upper-level haze from wildfires in Oregon moving in, but air quality in the lower levels will be much better with cool temperatures in the mid-70s. (KIRO 7 News)

Wildfire smoke is pushing into Seattle from the north, impacting air quality.

Late Monday morning, air quality in some areas started to degrade.

Areas of Seattle, Bainbridge Island, Kent, Auburn and Tacoma were at the moderate air quality level as of 12:30 p.m.

Parts of Shoreline, Bothell and Woodinville were in the unhealthy for sensitive groups range, while other parts of Woodinville and Bothell were at the unhealthy level, along with areas of Snohomish and Monroe.

KIRO 7 Meteorologist Nick Allard said that on Tuesday, wind will be coming in from the east and north for some gusty conditions that will push in some haze.
